International Women's Day

International Women’s Day Review 2010
“I found my voice!”

Thank you to everyone who participated in our IWD celebrations this year, which attracted over a thousand women from across Wales to enjoy creative workshops, exhibitions and events.

In partnership with Art Central gallery in Barry, WAA hosted its annual Open Exhibition (9th-27th March).

“Not only have I sold my painting but I have found new friendships and rekindled old ones.”

“Great to see IWD celebrated in Cardiff – the quality of the show is even better this year – keep it up WAA!

WAA collaborated with Pontardawe Arts Centre, to present Frame By Frame, an eclectic evening of short films by contemporary female filmmakers, artists and animators. This event was supported by the Film Agency for Wales.

As a finale to this year’s celebrations, women joined WAA at Craft In The Bay, Cardiff, for In Her Own Voice, a day of vibrant workshops exploring the written and spoken word.

“Inspiring, considered, creative and unusual.”
